Don't Forget To Ask For Help

Updated: Sep 2, 2020

It is hard to ask for help! It may leave you feeling weak or unconfident in yourself. I have been at a place where I feel like I am just barely staying afloat when balancing my life. Asking for help actually is a sign of maturity, even if it doesn’t feel like it. Identifying within yourself where you may need help is actually a sign of a great leader. Lucky for us, humans love helping others! It helps us get to know others, build trust, understand empathy, and be kind. Helping and receiving help actually benefits both parties.

If you attend a school it is likely you have a huge support system. Your school has a multitude of resources that can help you. Those people could be teachers, peers, counselors or your close friends. If you are on a team you have teammates, coaches, and an athletic department. Out of all these people there are always one or more who are willing to help, all you have to do is just ask! Balancing your personal life, academics, and athletics doesn't mean you have to do it all yourself.
