A Marcus Minute: Episode 4- Perspective
In baseball, there are foul and fair balls. There are 3 strikes for an out and 4 balls for a walk. Regardless of the outcome of the pitch, you always get another chance to go at bat. This is very similar to life... We are handed some foul circumstances, but we ultimately control how we respond to that. It all depends on your perspective... Accept your foul circumstance and go back up to bat then hit a grand slam! #alstonforathletes #mentalhealthawareness #worldmentalhealthday #endthestigma

My 1 year post-diagnosis: It’s time to end the mental health stigma!
Around this time last year, I was diagnosed with a mental illness that I was dealing with most of my life. The outcome of my illness was far out of my control, but it’s helped me find purpose in life and that’s helping student athletes who are struggling mentally, physically, and emotionally. In this video, I talk about my mental illness more in detail as well as how we can go about ways to advocate for better mental health in our communities. If you’re interested in advocating to end the stigma please feel free to reach out and I’ll help point you in the right direction. We will only be able to make a difference together! And to all my friends, I’m so blessed to have people like you supporting me and my vision. Without you guys, I wouldn’t be where I’m at today. This is only the beginning 🙏🏽
