Alston for Athletes (AFA) is a comprehensive mentoring program that brings foundational mental health awareness to student-athletes. We are fully committed to the mental development for the future generation of student-athletes.
Marcus Alston founded AFA in September of 2019 with one major goal: he didn't want student athletes to go through what he endured without a support system. He built a team of motivated individuals to help spread the message of promoting emotional, and mental well-being.
Our mission is to help student-athletes improve self-esteem and social competence by emphasizing strong emotional, and mental health awareness.
We partner with colleges and have collegiate student-athletes serve as mentors to local middle school student-athletes who may be struggling.
AFA is a community and outlet for student athletes across the world!
We incorporate the 4A Method to instill important virtues into the student-athletes we mentor. Through our programs, we aim to have kids practice aspects of the 4A Method in their daily lives.
Each principle of the 4A Method promotes striving towards being the best individual you can be. We want our mentees to set ambitious goals as mentors hold them accountable. Mentors will also bring emotional and mental health awareness to mentees in order to help achieve their ambitious goals.
