Justine Fredette

Support Group Coordinator


Born and raised in Winnipeg, Canada. Justine graduated from the University of Connecticut in 2018 after playing 4 years of Division 1 ice hockey. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. During her time at UConn she became passionate about student-athlete mental health and wanted to be a part of the change. This led her to pursue her master’s degree and follow her dream to work in the mental health field with student-athletes. She graduated with her Master’s of Science (Ms. Ed.) in Counseling in 2020 from the University of Wisconsin-Superior where she worked in the university of counseling center and within the athletic department. She has experience working with amateur, college, and professional athletes and uses her prior experiences as an elite athlete and mental health practitioner to make sessions a safe and healing place for her clients. She has experience working with NCAA teams as well as individual athletes to better individual and group performance. Justine continues to work in a private practice in Minnesota while working towards her licensure as a LPCC (Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor).
