Kyle Simmonds was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio while playing multiple sports growing up. He had three older sisters, two of which played college softball at the University of Dayton and Ohio Dominican University. He started playing football in 8th Grade and was the first in his family to do so. While in high school he suffered a torn labrum and needed surgery. After his high school career he was an honorable mention all state and also played in the oldest running all star game in the country the OHSFCA North-South All-star Game. In this game he suffered his second major injury tearing his ACL, MCL and Meniscus putting his freshman football season on hold at Saint Francis University. He came back after 16 months of rehab and finally began his career as an offensive lineman. He later found out he played his whole sophomore year with a torn ACL while struggling with depression and anxiety the whole season. His career was then cut short after having to medically retire but still stuck around his football team. His senior year he was elected President of SAAC and was given the award of Student-Athlete Development Leadership Award and being elected into the SAAC Hall of Fame at Saint Francis. He later graduated with a Degree in Communications and a minor in Social Work. Currently he is studying to get his MBA while working as a graduate assistant of Creative Video and Broadcasting at his Alma Mater Saint Francis University.
