Mekkai is a dedicated sophomore majoring in Political Science at Temple University, where his passion for civic engagement and advocacy has found its home. During his academic journey, he had the incredible opportunity to explore the world of politics, and he’s committed to making a positive impact in his community and beyond.

As an intern with a Pennsylvania State Representative, he had the privilege of authoring HB1367, a bill aimed at improving the mental health support system for students across the commonwealth. This experience reinforced his belief in the power of legislation to affect meaningful change.

He’s an active member of the Temple Political Science Society, where he engages in discussions, collaborate on projects, and participate in events that promote civic awareness and encourage informed political discourse.

His journey as a political science major has fueled his desire to contribute to a more inclusive and equitable society. He believes that through effective policy and community engagement, we can create a brighter future for everyone. He’s excited to continue his education and work towards becoming a more thoughtful and effective advocate for positive change.
